Talking Eyes

Tonight I decided to let Paige fall asleep watching a movie so I could get some stuff done upstairs.  Around 10 o'clock (2 hours after bedtime) I go down to check on her.  Her eyes were so heavy but she was still awake.  Here is our conversation.

M: Paige you need to sleep.
P: I want to, but my eyes said just a little longer.
M: Your eyes?
P: I'm tired but my eyes aren't ready yet.
M: I love you.

Happy Easter

Here is Paige with Bella (brown) and Princess Lulu (white.) Our neighbor breeds these kind of bunnies and I thought they would make the perfect addition to our Easter portraits.  I love Easter.  It has always been my favorite holiday. I love the spring flowers.  I love the pastel colors.  I love the newness of everything.   I love the Easter candy (it taste better than any other candy.)  And I love being able to focus on the Savior, the atonement, and the resurrection.   I love Easter.

Plenty of time for Cheesecake

A couple of weeks ago we went to the zoo with some friends.  When we were heading home it was dinner time so we stopped and got some food.  We noticed that there was a Cheesecake Factory across the street from where we were eating.  So we started talking about going over there for dessert.  Well, after we were done with dinner Paige was ready to go home.  She kept saying she wanted to go home and we had no time to stop again.  And just really whining/complaining up wanting to go home.  Then she heard the word "cheesecake" and her whole continence changed.  She turned with a smile on her face and said "Ohhh, there is PLENTY of time for cheesecake."  (with the emphasis perfectly placed on "plenty.")  It was classic.  And the cheesecake was delicious.

Looking So Grown Up

This was taken while I was setting up lights in the studio.  We had gone swimming this morning and I hadn't done her hair yet.   Despite the rag-a-muffin look, I just think she looks so grown up.  I'm ready to let time stand still for a little bit.

Sleeping Beauty

I just went in to check on Paige and found that she had fallen asleep with a tiara on.  My little sleeping beauty.  I had to take a picture and share before I took it off her.  I don't want it to break if she rolls over on it.

Beach Shoot

This was taken while we were in CA last month.  The munchkin refused to smile and look at the camera.  I could get one or the other, but not both.  But, she is still so adorable.

Disney 2009

We just got back from a wonderful week in CA.  It has become tradition to go to CA sometime between Feb 14 and March 1.  I call it our mental/emotional health vacation.  We had a great time with Stacey and her family and we were able to spend 3 days at Disney.  I only took my camera one of those days (I wanted to just enjoy the others with out the responsibility of taking pictures.)  So here is a glimpse of our trip.

Us on the "Finding Nemo Submarine" (a rare photo with me actually in it)
Paige helping keep track of Stacey's twins.  They are great little friends, it was fun to watch them interact.
Our visit to Pixie Hallow to see the Fairies.  Here is Paige with Fawn.
and with Tinker Bell.
And of course, a picture with Mickey Mouse.  (Don't you love the tie-dye Mickey shirt I made Paige.)
Paige was actually tall enough to go on most of the rides.  I was able to share with her my favorite ride, Soarin' Over California.  Her favorite ride was the Orange Stinger (which gave me motion sickness after going on it 5 times.) Hopefully in the next day or so I'll post the pictures from our day at the beach.

Happy Valentine's Day

Happy Valentine's Day!  We are having a good day.  We had heart shaped, pink pancakes for breakfast (with strawberries and whip cream.)  We made Valentines and received some beautiful white roses.  Tonight, I'm going to introduce Paige to chocolate fondue.  Yum!

I Love To See the Temple...

I'm going there today.
That's the song we were singing this morning.  We got to go to the Draper Temple Open House.  It was awesome.  Paige's favorite part was the baptistry (and probably the bus ride to the temple.)  It was gorgeous.  She said she wanted to go back, so I made reservations for us again in March.

Our Terrible, No Good, Very Bad Week

Last week was just one of those weeks when it didn't seem like anything went right.  We started the week on a major power struggle between me and Paige.  She thinks it is her turn to be in charge.  And I'm not ready for that (nor do I think I will be for at least 15 more years.)

When she went to bed Monday night, I thought she was happily asleep, but an hour later she came down covered head to toe in heavy hand cream (Eucrin)  I threw (almost literally) her in the shower, changed out her linens, tried to clean her (but realized this stuff doesn't come off with soap and water,) and put her back to bed.  Tuesday I washed her hair in coke.  It actually got the oily slimy stuff out.

Tuesday night Paige was running a fever and woke up early Wednesday throwing up.  Ugh!!!  Then, while I was up taking a shower, she figured out how to open the medication bottles and drunk half a bottle of Children's Motrin.  So I got to make my first call to poison control.  They said she would be fine, even if she took the whole bottle...how comforting.   She was fine the rest of the day (due to the fever actually being gone, or the extra drugs, I don't know.)

The week started getting better after that.  But I swear those were the longest 3 days I've had in a while.
